Coastal Farmhouse Family Room
Coastal farmhouse meets mid-century modern in this family room. We designed this rustic coastal-inspired space featuring ocean-blue coffered ceilings, an L-shaped sectional, and a blue leather ottoman. Sleek charcoal recliners, a soft cream boucle chair, and a custom rug add comfort. Marble tables and textured lamps complete the space, perfect for relaxing, conversation, and quality time with family.
We designed the room with colors loved by the client: creams and greys and blues and greens borrowed by an original artwork piece in the adjacent dining room. We helped them design the long library wall and built-ins. They love mid-century modern with a rustic coastal flavor, so we had the coffered ceilings painted a soft ocean blue. To foster snuggling, TV watching, quality time with Junior the pug, we added an L-shaped sectional with chrome clip legs. A large round blue leather ottoman with the same clips does duty as a cocktail table, and dinner and snack table. Sleek charcoal leather swivel recliners promote conversation as well as TV watching and the occasional nap. Our client wife suffered a damaged back from excessive exercise and back surgery, and the soft cream boucle chair is perfect relaxing solution for her. A custom charcoal and cream area rug warms the room. An iron accent table tops the chaise of the sectional, and a black and green marble end table is a handy place for drinks. To complete the space but not obstruct the view, we added a clean white marble console table, and white textured lamps. An ebony blade ceiling fan is perfect with the deep coffer. Luxury snuggling!
