It was no surprise to learn that the 51st Decorating Den Interiors Annual Conference was held as a Zoom presentation but it didn’t dampen the enthusiasm for the honor of winning awards at this year’s Dream Room Contest.
The 2020 Design Awards gives interior designers an opportunity to submit their professionally photographed projects. Each project is judged by a panel of shelter magazine editors from publications such as Elle Decor, Traditional Home, Veranda and several more.
Interior designers Lynne Lawson and Laura Outland are proud to announce that three of their projects have been awarded top honors at this years contest.
This gender-neutral nursery is both whimsical and sophisticated with its monochromatic color scheme and its mid-century modern flair. The soft cloud pattern wallpaper adds texture while white pom-pom window treatments soften the space and a bold pattern black and white area rug, multimedia dresser and mirror create contrast and interest.

This master bedroom was transformed into a luxurious suite with its chocolate velvet headboard accentuated with brass nailheads. A bold geo patterned wallpaper was used as a backdrop to add texture, and a pair of linen draperies hang above the bed to frame the focal point.

This mid-century modern dining room is given a twist with a bold and colorful wallpaper and a round concrete top dining table. Suspended above the table is a sophisticated smoked glass globe chandelier that brings ambience to the space. Deep teal velvet dining chairs add color, and sleek server provides storage and space for entertaining.
